Matanzas Movement Collective offers dance classes to adults of all levels and dance experience in a low-pressure, inclusive environment. We also offer performance opportunities and community engagement for those interested.

MMC does not have a central studio. For the flexibility and ease-of-access for everyone, MMC operates out of established studios in the NE Florida area. Please see the class schedule to figure out where your best-fit class is. Feel free to come to any class, though, regardless of experience. There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome in any MMC class!

MMC operates on the belief that everyone can dance! We welcome people of all abilities in all classes. Any and all modifications are considered okay, so, come as you are! We only ask you bring a desire to move and a positive attitude.

YES! MMC originally started as a way to connect past-dancers with their roots in a low-pressure and healing way. We believe in the importance of maintaining a relationship with dance through the ups and downs of life. Take the jump and come to class, you won’t regret it!!

We ask that each dancer signup using our registration form. Once that is completed, just show up to class with a positive attitude and be ready to move!

Class rates vary by the length and are listed with each corresponding class on the schedule. We also have punch cards available to bulk-purchase and lower the per-class cost. We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App.

The most important thing is to be comfortable and be able to move! Socks are recommneded to allow some "slip" to facilitiate choreography, though some dancers prefer barefoot or other dance shoes . For floorwork comfortability, it is recommended to have fabric covering the knees or bring kneepads, but this is up to the individual dancer.

All MMC classes feature a stretch, warm-up, and some form of fitness conditioning exercise. The class then learns a piece of choreography and performs the choreography in groups.

As performance opportunities come up, they will be communicated and offered to MMC dancers. There may be technical, rehearsal, and class attendance requirements depending on the performance.

MMC classes are created for adult dancers and often utilize adult language and themes. However, we have allowed children in class on a case-by-case basis. We also offer private lessons and can create innovative choreography for your dancer. Please contact us to determine how we can best facilitate your child’s dance journey.
