We recently had the joy of performing at the House of Prism Pride March 2026 at Eddie Vickers Park in St. Augustine, FL. It was an experience full of energy, inclusion, and celebration! We shared two pieces of choreography that truly connected with the spirit of the event. One was set to "Man of the Year" by Lorde, and the other to "Guess" by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish. Both pieces brought out different emotions and dance styles, making the performances dynamic and memorable.

Dancing to Celebrate Pride and Inclusion

Performing at the House of Prism Pride March was more than just a dance show. It was a chance to be part of a community that welcomes everyone. The event was filled with people from all walks of life, coming together to celebrate identity, love, and freedom. The energy was uplifting and inspiring.

Music sets the tone for every dance. The songs we chose for the Pride March had bold production and meaningful lyrics. "Man of the Year" by Lorde has an internalized, almost rebellious energy that pushed us to move cathartically. "Guess" by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish brought a confident and playful vibe that let us let loose and have fun!

Our choreography to "Man of the Year" by Lorde dealt with the process of identifying and expressing one's true gender. The song’s musicality and lyrics gave us space to express strength and pride. It was cathartic to move in ways that matched the song’s mood, and the crowd’s response was amazing!

The second piece, to "Guess" by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, had a different more upbeat and prideful feel. It was playful and fun, with sharp movements and high energy. This contrast showed the range of emotions and stories dance can tell. Performing these two pieces allowed us to share a fuller picture of expression and what we do at MMC!

How Dance Brings People Together

Dance is a universal language. It breaks down barriers and invites connection. At the Pride March, we saw how movement can unite people in celebration and mutual understanding. The crowd’s cheers and smiles showed how much joy dance can bring, and proved our hard work and priciples of joy and inclusivity paid off!

Events like this reminded us why we love being part of a dance community. It’s not just about technique or performance. It’s about sharing moments that lift everyone up. We all have stories to tell, and dance helps us tell them in a way words sometimes cannot.
